Bittern Chick Fledges Near Griffith, 1st March 2015:

0
We’re thrilled to confirm the first known Australasian Bittern chick to fledge from a rice crop. This gorgeous specimen allowed a few snaps before flying off into the night. It may well be one of the fluffy chicks previously snapped and featured in our gallery. It’s great to document what we’ve suspected and hoped: that this globally endangered species can breed successfully in Riverina rice crops.
